HUNTER EDUCATION

(Note - Hunter Education is conducted at Londonderry Fish & Game Facilities, but not by the club. )
For all subsequent education you must first enroll and complete the mandatory session. The basic mandatory course consists of 8-10 hours of classroom instruction and aproximately 6-8 hours of field experience that includes firing on a shooting range. Instructed by trained and certified instructors, participants learn firearms safety and handling; hunter ethics and responsibility; outdoor safety and survival skills; introduction to muzzleloading & bowhunting; wildlife identification and management; game trailing, recovery and care, and a Conservation Officer provides instruction for hunting laws. Participants are provided with a course handbook, a wildlife identification guide, outdoor survival information and additional handouts.

WHO MAY PARTICIPATE IN HUNTER OR BOWHUNTER EDUCATION?
All Participants in Hunter Education must be a minimum age of twelve (12) years of age to receive certification. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the course registration card at the commencement of the first class. All participants are requested to bring a positive form of identification. There will be approximately 12 classroom hours and 6-8 field hours and a final exam as prescribed by the N.H. Fish and Game Department. Participant Course cost is $5.00.
CLASS ATTENDANCE
To successfully complete the course, the New Hampshire Fish & Game Department requires course hours participation in conjunction with a written and field examination. Only two classes may be missed and a participant is automatically dropped from the course following a second absence. Participants arriving later than 15 minutes after the class has commenced will not be admitted.
FIELD SKILLS INSTRUCTION AND EXAMINATION
The field skills instruction course in a signaificant and material portion of the course and MAY NOT BE MISSED! Participants who miss this portion of the the Hunter Ed course will be dropped from enrollment.
PREPARATION FOR CLASS AND FIELD SKILLS
Participants are requested to come prepared with a pen. At the beginning of class materials will be passed out to each and every participant.
For the Field skills Instruction on Sunday, Participants are requested to be mindful of the weather and dress weather appropriate.
Participants are encouraged to bring a Lunch along. Due to the LFGC's remote location, lunch purchasing options are not available.
